Yup, you are correct....
Forgot to uncomment the following line in net-snmp-config.h
#define USE_OPENSSL 1

This caused all the problems :-)

Hmmm...  which environment did you build this in?  (VC++, MinGW,
Cygwin?) How exactly did you configure/compile it?
