the snmpd.conf is very simple and it is for testing
purpose. here it goes:

syslocation somewhere, mars
syscontact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
rocommunity  public
rwcommunity  private

under the file rc.conf:

snmpd_enable="YES"
snmpd_flags="-a -p /var/run/snmpd.pid"
snmptrapd_enable="YES"
snmptrapd_flags="-a -p /var/run/snmptrapd.pid"
snmpd_conffile="/usr/local/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf"

nothing particular and it should be fired up but it
wasn't!
