Some more things to check:

- What smux-related settings (smuxpeer, smuxsocket etc.) do you have in
your snmpd.conf?
- Do you also have this problem if you shut down the other smux peer
(SMUX ATM daemon)?
- Can you capture the packets on 127.0.0.1 port 199/tcp (e.g. with
tcpdump)? If so, feel free to send me the capture file privately (or to
anyone else who wants to help).
- Have you tried to go through the source code
(agent/mibgroup/smux/smux.c) yourself? :-)
