Hi,
I've been trying to build the rpms for net-snmp 5.4 on a rh8 system.
net-snmp compiles and links fine (so I have all the prerequisites installed)
I have > 200 systems out there in the wild that will need updating, and
of course
they have no compilers, so I always make binary rpms for them.
After being sure that all compiles correctly, I run the net-snmp.spec file
from the dist directory:
rpmbuild -ba ./dist/net-snmp.spec
very close to the end, we get:
Processing files: net-snmp-perlmods-5.4-1
error: File not found by glob: /tmp/net-snmp-root/usr/share/man/man3/*::*
error: File not found by glob: /tmp/net-snmp-root/usr/share/man/man3/SNMP*
Now, it happens that these man pages are in /tmp/net-snmp-root/usr/man/man3
(note the missing /share) although net-snmp's own man pages are in the
/share directory.
Perl on rh8 is 5.8.0, and we have many additional perl modules
installed. I always
make rpms of them (using cpan2rpm) to distribute them.
I had to comment out the PreReqs in the spec file, because although
beecrypt-devel
and elfutils-devel are installed, rpm wouldn't recognize them. If I
comment out the lines that
refer to the "missing" man pages, the rpms build fine, but complain:

/usr/man/man3/SNMP.3.gz
so I'm missing the man pages in the rpms.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix this? I've seen other people
on this list say they just build net-snmp form source and made the rpms.
Sounds like it should work. Won't work for me.
