It seems that I have to specify the engineID now. I replaced the line with Trapsess -e <engineID> -v3 -lauthNoPriv -uuser3 -aMD5 -Apassword3 <trap dest>
where the engineID is extracted from /var/net-snmp/snmpd.conf. Now everything works. I don't have to do this before.
