Thanks for your response.
Subagent was busy responding to snmpwalk (which comes as getnext
requests) till timestamp of Apr 5 18.36.56.098. SNMPD stopped responding
from timestamp Apr 5 18:36:57 for all the mib objects (owned by itself
and subagent). However, SNMPD was responding to subagent ping requests.
The ping interval was configured as 1 second.

We did not see this problem if subagent is not started. 
Please help us in identifying the problem.

How busy is the subagent?
Is it mostly handling requests for information, or generating traps, or
a mixture of both?

Do you see the same problem if the subagent isn't started?
