It should certainly be possible to extract the relevant bits of the OpenSSL
library, and link with them directly. That's not something that anyone has
sat down and done, but if you're prepared to do the work, we'd love to hear
how you get on.
Alternatively, are you actually using SNMPv3 encryption and SHA-based
authentication? If not, then try running
./configure --with-out-openssl .....
That should avoid picking up the crypto library altogether.
