Hi all,
I have a small application that creates a sub-agent
for monitoring purposes. I am using snmpd as the
master agent my sub-agent connects to. Everithig
works ok when I run everything under root, but I was
not able to make it work under a non-root user. I
followed the documented installation steps on Net-SNMP
5.4.1.
My question is: Is it possible to configure the
Net-SNMP so that I can run my simple sub-agent
application and snmpd under a non-root user? If this
is possible, could you please give me some directions
(configuration steps, command line parameter
values...).
