Is there a way to use snmptrap on snmpv3 and without
engine id?
I setup /home/powah/snmp/snmptrapd.conf as follows:
createUser -e 0x8000000001020304050607 test_MD5_DES
MD5 12345678 DES 87654321
createUser -e 0x800000000102030405060708 test_MD5_AES
MD5 12345678 AES 87654321
createUser admin MD5 12345678 DES 87654321
authuser log test_MD5_DES
authuser log test_MD5_AES
authuser log admin
Send snmptraps:
$ snmptrap -v 3 -u test_MD5_DES -l authPriv -a MD5 -A
12345678 -x DES -X 87654321 -e
0x8000000001020304050607 localhost 0 linkUp.0
$ snmptrap -v 3 -u test_MD5_AES -l authPriv -a MD5 -A
12345678 -x AES -X 87654321 -e
0x800000000102030405060708 localhost 0 warmStart.0
$ snmptrap -v 3 -u admin -l authPriv -a MD5 -A
12345678 -x DES -X 87654321 localhost 0 linkDown.0
Trap is logged for engine id but not without engine
