I am running NET-SNMP version 5.3.0.1 on a NetBSD (virtual machine) system. I am attempting to cause the daemon to reload its configuration (from the conf files) without terminating the program. In this attempt, I issue the command "kill -HUP <snmpd pid>" and observe that the daemon indicates it is reconfiguring the daemon, then restarting. If I then attempt to perform "snmpwalk -v2c -c private localhost 1", I get the response:
ccitt.1 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID Prior to the configuration reload, this same daemon would give me over a 1000 lines of MIB values. The purpose of this operation is to allow a local operator to define additional communities to a running system using a non-snmp interface. What should I be looking at? grant ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
