I went through the basic setup with snmpconf process outlined at http://www.net-snmp.org/tutorial/tutorial-5/demon/snmpd.html.
I then invoked snmpd from the command line. I ran prtg from a windows box on the same subnet as the FReeBSD7 box running net-snmp with autodiscovery and the IP address of the FreeBSD7 box running net-snmp and was able to create a sensor and track the throughput on the interfaces of the FreeBSD7 box. I verified the throughputs with a probe on the same segment and they match. I will also check the probe to look at the various SNMP traffic that is occurring. Everything appears to be working. Which test failed? +Thomas ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-users mailing list [email protected] Please see the following page to unsubscribe or change other options: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-users
