Hi All,
We are using Net-snmp-5.4.2.1. We are seeing that SNMPD logs the
following messages in syslog for every snmp request that it receives. Is
there any way to disable these messages from being logged to syslog..?
Because of these messages, syslog size is increasing hugely when
snmpwalk is run continuously or SNMPD runs for a long period of time.
snmpd[6878]: Connection from UDP: [10.232.90.12]:54311
snmpd[6878]: Received SNMP packet(s) from UDP: [10.232.90.12]:54311
I have seen the code and found that these messages are logged using
snmp_log() function with LOG_INFO as the logging level. If we configure
syslogd to disable log messages of INFO level from SNMPD, then we miss
other important messages like SNMPD is started/stopped which are also
logged using LOG_INFO.
So, can you please let me know if there is a way to disable the above
messages from being logged to syslog.? Any information on this will be
very helpful.
Thanks & Regards,
Suresh.
