Hi Folks

I have been using net-snmp for a while, but just accessing the defaults
built-in by whoever built the binary.
Now I would like to use the values provided by MTA-MIB, so I removed the
binary built for my distribution, recompiled and installed 5.6 and thus can
access the 'normal' objects.

If I try to access an object implemented by the MTA-MIB like

snmptranslate -On MTA-MIB::mtaReceivedMessages
.1.3.6.1.2.1.28.1.1.1

Now it looks like the MTA-MIB and its dependency NETWORK-SERVICES-MIB is
already loaded (maybe only in the client) but the agent appears not to be
interested.

snmpget -v2c -c asp localhost MTA-MIB::mtaReceivedMessages
MTA-MIB::mtaReceivedMessages = No Such Object available on this agent at
this OID

I tried to understand the
http://www.net-snmp.org/FAQ.html#How_do_I_add_a_MIB_to_the_agent_ but the
thing I am missing is the glue code to the mta, in my case sendmail. Does
this code exist or is it to be provided by the user (me) and if so, what is
the exact interface?

Thanks

ET
