This release is *very* old (dating from 2005) and the 5.1.x line is no longer supported. We *strongly* suggest that you look at using a more recent version of the software. You don't say which distribution of Linux you are using, but it's very likely that they will include a version of Net-SNMP as a vendor-supplied package.
