All,
Trying to deploy the HP-SNMP agents package on RHEL6 Net-SNMP 5.6.1 and
encountering some weirdness.
The agents are throwing a lot of registration duplication errors:
The following is showing up at 1800+ times in the log ( on various oids):
duplicate registration: MIB modules CompaqInsight and CompaqInsight (oid
.1.0.3.0.6.0.1.0.23.0.2.0.7).

It then looks like its somewhat successful with the following:
cmaX: subMIB 6 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 8 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 9 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 10 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 11 handler has disconnected

cmaX: subMIB 18 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 18 will be sent on port 25393 to cpqnicd
However when walking the agent oids I get the following:
but upon walking the agent oids I get no such oid available:
snmpwalk -v2c localhost:16161 .enterprises.232
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID
Now for the weirdness:
If I use the version of net-snmp that came with RHEL6 ( 5.5 ) - same
snmpd.conf, I get the following in the logs:
cmaX: subMIB 18 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 18 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 1 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 2 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 3 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 5 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 6 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 8 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 9 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 10 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 11 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 14 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 15 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 16 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 21 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 22 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 23 handler has disconnected
cmaX: subMIB 1 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer

cmaX: subMIB 11 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
cmaX: subMIB 14 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
cmaX: subMIB 15 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
cmaX: subMIB 16 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
cmaX: subMIB 21 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
cmaX: subMIB 22 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
cmaX: subMIB 23 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
cmaX: subMIB 18 will be sent on port 25393 to cpqnicd
and then walking the oids on .232 works just fine.
Anyone see anything like this? I have a case open with HP on this but wondered
if anyone else had encountered this. Any thoughts on where I should point HP
to?
