Having trouble figuring out the proper format for a numeric OID traphandler
directive in snmptrapd.conf. I have plenty of traphandles with
MIB-defined names; but I have a new trap coming in that has no MIB and only 1
trap so I'd like to just figure out what the proper syntax for the numeric
format traphandler is...
Here's what I've tried; but none of these work. Also tried variations ending in
"*" but always get syntax errors on the config file contrary to what the man
pages say...
traphandle .1.3.6.1.4.1.7061.1 /usr/script.pl
traphandle .1.3.6.1.4.1.7061.0.1 /usr/script.pl
traphandle ccitt.1.3.6.1.4.1.7061.1 /usr/script.pl
My default handler sends them to email so here's what the email and the
/var/log/messages record of the traps look like for reference:
Trap emails:
Host: hostname.domain.org (UDP: [10.1.2.3]:4897)
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance
0:0:00:00.00
SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0
ccitt.1.3.6.1.4.1.7061.0.1
ccitt.1.3.6.1.4.1.7061.1
"event info"
SNMP-COMMUNITY-MIB::snmpTrapAddress.0
10.1.2.3
SNMP-COMMUNITY-MIB::snmpTrapCommunity.0
"public"
SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapEnterprise.0
ccitt.1.3.6.1.4.1.7061
In /var/log/messages:
Jan 11 14:12:56 snmphost snmptrapd[23137]: 2012-01-11
14:12:56 hostname.domain.org[10.1.2.3]
(via UDP: [10.1.2.3]:4897) TRAP, SNMP v1, community public
ccitt.1.3.6.1.4.1.7061 Enterprise Specific Trap (1) Uptime: 0:00:00.00
ccitt.1.3.6.1.4.1.7061.1 = STRING: "event info"
Thanks!
