That's a relatively old version of the agent (more than six years!) It's also a very early version of the 5.3.x line - there have been several updates to that line since (and it's no longer being supported). I know that there has been a significant amount of work to address memory leaks in recent years. It would definitely be worth trying with a less ancient version of the agent!
