Hi all, We're using snmpdelta to monitor the interface on on our routers. It works really well except sometimes during loss of power. When the snmpdelta monitor starts before the router is ready, we get a massive flood of message like:
[12:47:10 7/9] IF-MIB::ifInOctets.1 /15 sec: 0 [12:47:10 7/9] IF-MIB::ifOutOctets.1 /15 sec: 0 [12:47:10 7/9] IF-MIB::ifInOctets.1 /15 sec: 0 [12:47:10 7/9] IF-MIB::ifOutOctets.1 /15 sec: 0 [12:47:10 7/9] IF-MIB::ifInOctets.1 /15 sec: 0 This keeps flooding STDOUT (and our log forwarding agent). The switches we use are: snmpdelta -v2c -c <snip> -Cs -Cf -Cp 15 <snip> IF-MIB::ifInOctets.1 IF-MIB::ifOutOctets.1 Is this a bug in snmdelta? My expectation would be that, even if returning 0 values, snmpdelta should honour the -Cp 15 (in other words at least wait 15 seconds before returning). Thoughts or corrections are most welcome.
