I'm having the same problem - almost. I get "atalkd: ( ) nbp_packet:
malformed packet" in the logfile. I cannot see - or be seen - in Appletalk
land, but in IP land, I can use Chooser (Mac OS 8.1) with the IP address of
the netatalk host, and connect quite nicely.
I'm running on Solaris 2.5.1, netatalk-1.4b2+asun2.1.4, compiled with gcc
2.95.1

Subject: Disappearing server from appletalk
So, new machine running stick RH6.1, netatalk-1.4b2+asun2.1.3, ti
thunderlan (aka Compaq)
Starts up, all looks well in nbplkup, printers and shares show up in
chooser.
Mount a few, then look in network browser, no sign of server. No sign
in chooser either, but entering ip address works.
Read archives and added allmulti to eth0, still no dice.
So, what's the best solution ?
- anybody fixed this before ?
- change ti for etherexpress ?
- change kernel ?
