Open Call: Creative Interventions in Social Housing (Via New Media Curating email list)
Dear all, Baltan Laboratories and Trudo jointly offer a 6-weeks residency period for creative interventions in social housing projects, focused on community building and participation. This residency will be dedicated to a specific neighborhood in Eindhoven, called Eikenburg, a former monastery that focused on care and education. How can these ideals be translated into social housing? How to stimulate a community to take ownership for their immediate environment and to take care for each other? The deadline for submitting your proposal is July 15, 2020. This is the second edition of the multi-year collaboration between Trudo and Baltan that stimulates crossovers, experimentations and new collaborations. The residency program acts as a driver for talent development for professional creatives, with a focus on social issues. This residency aims at artists, designers and creative entrepreneurs from the Netherlands, working on the intersections of social- and urban design, community art and architecture. This shared residency offers creatives the opportunity to develop a new project that focusses on the livability of an area, connecting inhabitants and/or motivating active participation. An important guiding principle for this residency is to focus on the needs of the community in order to take initiative and ownership of their immediate environment.
