This is interesting and ofc ourse culturally significant...

I think that one should remember or even acknowledged that, there is another aspect of alternative culture that is less based around corporate positioning and more about empoerment and dstribution, regarding wireless access. With groups such as the boundless co operative group, who are already pretty dynamic in creating independent uses of this technology, in a ditributive way - http://boundless.coop/

I am not dissing Pipex but I think that it would be good if we were more conscious/active/creative minds taking more control over the technology that we use.

I know that this Pipex move into Milton Keynes is obviously mainstream-mass mediation, rather than people taking control of their own voices and situations - but it is most definately re-assuring that there are alternatives out there - people who are actively engaged in changing culture on a grass roots level as well.
