hi to all,
i've thought to launch a project to support and help the iraq national
library and archives, and thus to focalize over iraqi citizens' rights.
i have several pictures of spanish national library.
everyone has a library, in small villages or big cities.
we can take pictures of our libraries and ask the british national
library to host all the pictures received to support mr. eskander and
his staff.
he is got a net diary:
http://www.bl.uk/iraqdiary03.html
i am a web developer, so i can manage the website if it is needed.
the work can be extended to more formats and to books and writtings...
and all dedicated to iraq and trying to stop that horrible war.
i wonder if any of you are interested on playing with the posibilities
of this idea.
if you join the project, we can send it to rhizome_rare to extend the
project to all the net.
this is the first picture i have send to mr. eskander, who does not have
much time for all. i have asked him to ask to someone to his staff to be
the contact at the inla.
http://mirada.arkania.org/uploaded_images/070316_ciudad_calenco-775227.jpg
it is not the kind of picture i'm working on:
http://mirada.arkania.org/uploaded_images/070317b_ciudad_calenco-726157.jpg
but we can play posibilities to contribute to the inla and iraqi
citizens with creativity.
please,
read the diary, read the bit where the explotion at the book street
ocurred. he knew the people. it was one of the oldest streets in bagdag.
the project can makes me think about sherezade and her ability to face
every day death telling a story to her husband, we can try to reproduce
the magic of the 1001 nights in our way and with digital tools.
mr. eskander has written something about a digital project, perhaps with
the british national library.
should we work out ideas around a "1001 project"?
looking forward answers,
b_ing
...oooOOO( thanks, ruth )
