Een
avond met videokunst, foto's, geluid en performance en drie bijzondere
gasten: Mounira Al Solh (LB), Paul Keller (DE / NL) en Tarek Atoui (LB
/ FR).
Mounira
Al Solh toont haar werk en vertelt over de haar VIDEO Rawane’s Song (te
zien in het Libanese paviljoen op de Biënnale van Venetië), en twee
works-in-progress: A Cat in the Hippodrome en The Sea is a Stereo.
Paul
Keller tracteert ons op zijn idee van “collateral knowledge” met een
fijne ouderwetse dia-avond (maar dan net even anders) van zijn reizen
in Dubai, Libanon, Amman en Damascus.
Tenslotte
besluit Tarek Atoui de avond met een PERFORMANCE bestaande uit twee
abstracte elektronische composities. Hij gebruikt daarvoor materiaal
die hij heeft verzameld tijdens recente reizen en tijdens
de Israëlische oorlog in Libanon in 2006.
De
gasten worden ingeleid door Nat Muller.
Tot
begin november vindt iedere donderdag een El HEMA koopavond plaats met
presentaties, salons, optredens en bijzondere presentaties.
De
openingstijden van El HEMA zijn uitgebreid tot woensdag, donderdag,
vrijdag en zaterdag van 18.00 - 22.00 uur, en zondag van 14.00 tot
18.00 uur. Je kunt in de El HEMA ook Arabisch eten.

An
evening choc-a-bloc with video art, images, audio and performance,
strung together by 3 distinguished guests: Mounira Al Solh (LB), Paul
Keller (DE / NL) and Tarek Atoui (LB / FR).
Mounira
Al Solh will show her work and talk about her much acclaimed VIDEO
Rawane’s Song (recently shown at the Venice Biennial’s Lebanese
Pavilion), and two works-in-progress: A Cat in the Hippodrome and The
Sea is a Stereo.
Paul
Keller treats us to his idea of “collateral knowledge” by ways of a
nice old-fashioned SLIDESHOW (with a twist) of his travels through
Dubai, Lebanon, Amman, and Damascus.
Last
but not least, Tarek Atoui closes the evening by a PERFORMANCE of two
abstract electronic compositions in which he uses sound material
collected during recent travels and during Israel's 2006 July war on
Lebanon.
The
evening is hosted by Nat Muller.
Every Thursday until 4
November El HEMA koopavond with salons, performances, workshops and
special presentations.
Extended
opening Hours of EL HEMA: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
18.00 - 22.00 & Sunday 14.00 - 18.00. The El HEMA also serves
Arabic food.
