New mini-festival in Frome, Somerset seeking music journalists to
participate in "Talking Musical Revolutions" on Saturday, 19 June at
7pm.


"Talking Musical Revolutions" will alternate between stories from music
journalists and DJ interludes.  The weekend includes independent
musicians and artists, debates and talks about the music business and
other topics, plus a Slow Media Movement launch and display throughout
the weekend.  Unfortunately we had a group pull out for this slot, so
needing to fill it quickly! 


Also in attendance for the weekend are the Guardian's John Harris and
Helienne Lindvall, the Mirror's Gavin Martin, John McClure from Reverend
& the Makers, and Big Chill's Laura B.

For participants in this volunteer-run festival, we are offering a free
weekend pass, free camping and a free round trip bus from Hackney to
Frome, Friday midday to Sunday late night.  The festival itself is held
in the beinghuman warehouse, a new space with gallery, event and studio
space hosting music, art and film events.  More info:

During the day will be innovative, independent, intelligent debates on
music, art, fashion, philosophy & art. The evening will be about music,
art & dance with live acoustic & lo fi dj sets from an amazing line up
of independent musicians & artists. Featuring cutting edge digital
artists, musicians, writers, thinkers, ecologists & journalists the
weekend is about exploring independent sustainable ways of staying
creative & alive.

With a focus on music & new music strategies the weekend features: Rare
acoustic set from Reverend & The Makers, Ultravox lenegend Midge Ure
with the first fair trade social network, Tunited, video & art from Toby
Marks aka Banco De Gaia, Polar Bear’s Leafcutter John, the innovative
label  A Future Without featuring Adrian Utley from Portishead, Guardian
& BBC journalist & broadcaster John Harris, New Music Strategies with
Andrew Dubber, Afro Celt Sound System & Imagined Village’s Simon
Emmerson, art & music from beinghuman’s Gaynor O’Flynn & the beinghuman
collective, BBC's world music master DJ Pathaan, music from Carrie Tree,
Musician, producer & artist Matt Tweed, Charty Durrant former Fashion
Editor of The Sunday Times, The Observer & British Vogue, Talking
Musical Revolutions with legendary music journalists Gavin Martin, Paolo
Hewitt & Chris Salewicz …

With installation art from Seeper the interactive arts & technology
collective, The Open Gallery, Kathy Hinde, I Am The Mighty
Jungulator, Jo Hyde & Yeast Culture. 

Charty Durrant former Fashion Editor of The Sunday Times, The
Observer & British Vogue, Orsola De Castro & Jo Komodo will lead the
ethical fashion front.

beinghuman will also be launching the [slow media movement] a live,
webcast of the weekend with interviews, feeds & films all dedicated to
slow, intelligent, brilliant media.
