GltchLnguistx: The Machine in the Ghost / Static Trapped in Mouths [a talk].

When the glitch is applied to natural human language (written and
spoken), the abstract/disembodied "code" of language is infused with the
event-based materiality of time and space. The "meaning" of glitched
language becomes colored by and contingent upon its performative
encounter with the immanent glitch event. (Mikhail Bakhtin's concept of
the "utterance" is helpful in understanding the dynamics of this
encounter.) From the perspective of GltchLnguistx, computers are
non-human physical bodies that occasionally inf[l]ect the disembodied
code of human language with the entropy of being. The glitch acts as a
clinamen: a swerve in the monotony of language that tricks out new meaning.
