We're suffering the same here I think; all the foreclosures and layoffs etc. are pretty much hitting the poor. It's ghastly. But the poor are invisible here - the rich are still getting away with paying very few if any taxes (1500 millionaires, it just came out, paid out nothing to the IRS this year, at all), and the poor are losing more and more of their safety net. If riots happen, it will be like the 60s here, in the poor areas; the rich have already enclaved themselves completely.
Ah and the market's now below 500 points in the US for the second day in a row. There's already violence upon our bodies; it's just a question of time before it spreads.
