Hi All,

Dorkbot will be hosted by Queen Mary University to tomorrow night at
19:00/7:00pm.

I will be presenting on the telematic dinner parties I ran this summer as
part of my research placement with Furtherfield, London and Culture Lab,
Newcastle.

I am in good company with colleagues presenting their work:

   -
*Comniview<http://qmat.net/2011/10/comniview-a-conical-omni-directional-augmented-reality-display/>
   * - Joe Lyske
Comniview is a holographic-like display using Pepper’s Ghost technique,
combined with high speed, spinning, semitransparent surfaces to create an
Augmented Reality display that can be viewed from every angle.
   - *Mirror Being* - Nicola Plant
Mirror Being is an interactive installation that presents your shadow
mirror image, interrogating your sense of self as the mirror breaks off and
   forms its own autonomous existence.
   - *Risset rhythms <http://www.mcld.co.uk/>* - Dan Stowell
Making an auditory illusion into dance music: beats that accelerate
   forever

There will also be lots of fun hacked items to see and play with from the
newest cohort in Media and Arts Technology PhD. See what a few electronics
can do to toy airplanes, an etch-a-sketch, audio children's books to name a
few.

Hope to see you there!

Cheers,
Pollie
