I have a couple of identities, mostly for MUDding. I'm myself on mailing lists, or at least I use my own name. But I do have list-specific personalities I think. > It would be a shame for this imaginative way of playing with the net was > suddenly deleted. Yes we need more virtual identity play, not less. The casus belli against pseudonymity is that it enables trolls. There are three problems with this on its own terms. The first is that many trolls are perfectly happy trolling under their real identities. The second is that it's easy enough to set up a fake RL identity (pace Heath Bunting's work in this area) to use for trolling. And the third is that pseudonymity also helps the victims of trolls avoid them. _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list NetBehaviour@netbehaviour.org http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
