Description
Luminary Theatre's debut show, *Megalopolitan*, will be performed at the
*VAULT Festival* from 18th - 22nd February, and we're looking for an
*Animator / Video Artist* to build content for the show.
The show is still developing and the content is open for discussion
between the Video Artist and the creative team, considering the fee
offered and the projected time involved. At this stage we anticipate the
following:
- scene 1: a series of 50 tweets rolling up a screen (content creation &
editing needed)
- scene 2: montage of images showing global conflicts, approx 3 minutes,
can loop (content creation & editing)
- scene 3: girl sitting at a train station, approx 2 minutes (editing)
- scene 4: exploration of a western industrialised city: lights, speed,
disconnect from the natural world, possibly time-lapsed views of London
(content creation & editing)
The show is a mulit-disciplainary, one woman piece by award-winning
playwright Karis Halsall and celebrated composer Sam Organ, of Physics
House Band. Using spoken word, live soundscapes, revolutionary music
technology and animation, Megalopolitan promises to be exciting and
diverse, and won the Ideastap brief to be performed at the VAULT Festival.
We are looking for an Animator / Video Artist who can start working with
us straight away, giving us creative responses to the text and then
developing material for integration into rehearsal. Experience of using
AV in live performance / theatre environment is ideal.
*Key dates:*
w/c 2nd February - first drafts of video content, staggered integration
into rehearsal, ongoing feedback/redrafting
15th February - final drafts of video content completed before
production week (deadline)
17th February - Get in / tech rehearsal
18th - 22nd February - Performance run
*Fee:*
£200, with the possibility of a profit share.
