For small, standalone projects I would be inclined to agree.
But, this is what leads to fad of the month being used. Witness,
a very important infrastructure item, pkglint, now being written
in a non-portable language. The people maintaining the guide have
a tendency to come and go. It should not be up to the current
contributor to something that is important to the project as a
whole to make such an important decision on their own.
