cron jobs not running after upgrade from 8.0/1 to 9.1

I updated sets excluding /etc on 2 amd64 VPS instances from 8.0/8.1 to
9.1. Can that upset with cron? cron service is running but the jobs aren't
running.

Log shows this:

cron: in pam_vprompt(): no conversation function
