Can you add lines like these to /etc/fstab if they're not already there? They're needed for some large, complex programs--and lyx seems to fit that category, now. kernfs /kern kernfs rw ptyfs /dev/pts ptyfs rw procfs /proc procfs rw tmpfs /var/shm tmpfs rw,-m1777,-sram%25 -RVP
