Your list of pros and cons was very helpful, thank you. I decided to follow your approach and use a single GPT partition per disk and run devpubd before zfs to have nice stable wedge names. > disks with single zfs gpt partition > - clutters your running system utility outputs with dkN devices (*) > [...] > *: this I find annoying) I also find this annoying but devpubd makes it tolerable.
