multimedia/dvdbackup seems to be a useful tool for this though I have not personally used it. "Ripping" here is a colloquial but popular term for backing up the video from a DVD. This copying is restricted by law in some jurisdictions, but movie studios' lawyers don't typically sue individuals who copy their own 480p DVDs for themselves, as they are far too busy trying to nab the large groups giving 4K Ultra HD video streams to thousands of people.
OH! I have 2 CD/DVD drives in this computer.
