I evaluated ZFS recently on Raspberry Pi 4 with 4 GiB of RAM in combination with NFS and on several occasions kernel pgdaemon thread got stuck and starting consuming 100% CPU. I switched to UFS as ZFS is not usable on this particular hardware. You may have better luck if your hardware supports more RAM. Test it out and report any issues. Personally I'm not a big fan of ZFS, it has some nice features, but this adds to the overall complexity of the file system. I tend to prefer UFS with hardware RAID and good quality SSDs.
