Not surprising, I suppose.

I haven't built packages from src for a while but I remember the case of it 
having to build multiple GCC versions to satisfy Make requirements - insane. It 
was even worse for those projects that require XX version of Ninja or Cmake or 
whatever. At the end of the build you had like 20 versions of them!!! (A bit 
hyperbolic, of course).

This afflicts ALL *BSDs (and probably Linux-kernel OS's as well?).

So 5 days seems quite fast, all these issues considered.
