I had a look at this. The hang is in our serial interrupt handling code - we end up stuck in an interrupt loop as soon as we enable interrupts. I didn't get very far with debugging it - on real hardware we ignore any interrupts on other CPU's. On qemu, that workaround doesn't work and when we try to output a character on the console, we receive the constant stream of interrupts [*]. However, if you start the VM with a graphical console, you can use 4 CPU's. Regards, Julian [*] Obviously, it's not possible to output anything when trying to debug what happens! --
