Thank you very much Alied & Rick. I am very glad that we were able to sanity test so many features on such a short notice. I will send Go now so that the bundle can go live tomorrow.

As for the different build number, it's a mystery though. I for one have this in my About dialog:

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.2 (Build 201609300101)
Updates: NetBeans IDE is updated to version NetBeans 8.2 Patch 2
Java: 1.8.0_151; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.151-b12
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_151-b12
System: Linux version 4.4.0-53-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; cs_CZ (nb)

but one engineer has also build #201705191307 like you Alied. What matters though is the second line about Patch 2 installed. Anyone can also verify that via "View > IDE Log" menu item and finding that some modules are at version #201705191307.

Thanks again to everybody who participated in this sanity test! We value your support a lot.

Have a great week!

Hermien / Jiri,

I have tested HTML 5 and JavaScript editing using NetBeans 8.2 Patch 2 with
JDK 8 update 151, and found no significant issues. I have updated the the

However, I did find many minor issues with some test specifications,
especially "[Web Client] HTML5 Editor". Most issues relate to the
documentation rather than defects in NetBeans, and I don't think any of the
issues I found would have been introduced by Patch 2. I can either send you
a separate email detailing all the issues later this week, or click the
"report issue" link for each test with problems. Just let me know which
would be the best approach.

Rick

Understood - thanks for the clarification.

I just reinstalled the base version of NetBeans 8.2, and it did not
contain Patch 2. However, when I restarted NetBeans *Help -> About *showed
that *Patch 2* had been automatically applied for me as well.

Alied,

Yes, NetBeans itself (the IDE) was not installed, but fixes to NetBeans
were applied during your installation. That's why you now see "Patch 2"
in
your environment details.

Your NetBeans instance now has this combination of fixes:
- Those in NetBeans 8.2 Patch 1 and NetBeans 8.2 Patch 2, as detailed
here:
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__wiki.netbeans.org_NetBeans8.2PatchesInfo&d=DwIFaQ&c=RoP1YumCXCgaWHvlZYR8PQcxBKCX5YTpkKY057SbK10&r=lNbsjsPBIlkvLk3cCo-v9Cl8OCHz_BBqfpuXTKAlzb4&m=_SvKKwWHi1xF-nhlOx39A5bDB9HBWheDs7kL0LELj7w&s=-IFojRDJzkorouc9UNIy2mfj9dkEwNVbwdYoi7zu1Mk&e=
- Those in Build 201705191307

From a development perspective everything might seem fine, and probably
is
fine, but that is not a suitable environment for QA testing NetBeans.

Alied,

I'll defer to Hermien and Jiri, but that does not seem OK to me since
your
installation will presumably still contain changes from Build
201705191307. Even
if you are seeing no problems, there may be issues due to patches
contained
in that build. Unlikely but possible, right?

I do have Build 201609300101, although I also specifically uninstalled
my
existing NetBeans 8.2 installation first, before running
*jdk-8u151-nb-8_2-windows-x64.exe*. Here are my settings:

*Product Version:* NetBeans IDE 8.2 (Build 201609300101)

*Updates:* NetBeans IDE is updated to version NetBeans 8.2 Patch 2
<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__wiki.netbeans.org_NetBeans8.2PatchesInfo&d=DwIFaQ&c=RoP1YumCXCgaWHvlZYR8PQcxBKCX5YTpkKY057SbK10&r=lNbsjsPBIlkvLk3cCo-v9Cl8OCHz_BBqfpuXTKAlzb4&m=_SvKKwWHi1xF-nhlOx39A5bDB9HBWheDs7kL0LELj7w&s=-IFojRDJzkorouc9UNIy2mfj9dkEwNVbwdYoi7zu1Mk&e=

*Java:* 1.8.0_151; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.151-b12

*Runtime:* Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_151-b12

*System:* Windows 10 version 10.0 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_US (nb)

Also, it seems unlikely that you "only installed JDK 8u151" since you
now
have *NetBeans 8.2 Patch 2*. I don't think that "*Patch 2*" would have
been
displayed prior to your update. Perhaps the NetBeans installer should
verify that its build (i.e. 201609300101) is more recent than that of
the
currently installed build when updating an existing installation of
NetBeans?

Hi Hermien:

I downloaded the bundle, but since I already have Netbeans 8.2

it only installed JDK 8u151. The page says I should be using build
/201609300101, but I have this:
Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.2 (Build 201705191307)
Updates: NetBeans IDE is updated to version NetBeans 8.2 Patch 2
Java: 1.8.0_151; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.151-b12
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_151-b12

is that OK? I've been using it this week for a personal project at
home.
It's a Maven-based Java FX program with Derby DB via JDBC. Since I'm a
member of the Maven tribe, it seems appropriate. So far so good.
