On 11 Dec 99 21:52:41 +0500, arriving home from a PC burning party, Andrew Deacon said,
> As I understand it Chris is no longer trading. Distribution of NC3 is
> now controlled by Eyetech.
> Unfortuanately for those of us who haven't yet upgraded from NC2 the
> price is now 35 and you have to return your NC2 CD:(
See my other message about phoning Chris. I've just tried phoning
again to double check the message. He is moving office to Edinburgh
but he says nothing about distribution of NC3 one way or another (so
you could still be right). Having said that, if he is still in
business, why not still deal in NC3? Active without NC is rather like
a daddylonglegs without the middle bit.
Whatever he is doing, I am of the opinion that Chris has badly
mishandled the situation. I can let that pass if he will remedy the
situation promptly.
As for returning the NC2 CD, that's only fair. You have paid for the
licence to use NC (and got discounts on trading up). The number of
secondhand NC1s and NC2s on the net for sale must surely be a breach
of the terms of the licence.
