Hello All: A while back someone on this list was kind enough to share some information with everyone on how to get some more speed out of genesis. In that same light, I thought I would share one of my settings with everyone :) Most people use a "Hayes" Compatable modem, which has a few extra commands that aren't mentioned. One that I find very useful is m0 When "m0" is added to the init string of your modem in Genesis, it shuts off that annoying speaker. Thus, no beeeep fuzzz whiiiine glurp wail when you connect. Most init strings look like the following: AT&F&D2 \r where the \r is effectively a return for the modem. m0 should be added after the space and just before the \r. For example, my init string looks like this: AT&F&D2 m0\r This init string will give you a silent connection.
