I know, you have right!
I get the same answer from linux-raid list.

But now I think I must ask you: Are you sure?
I use continually the debug-kernel, and now I get another strange bug!

Before your patch, I have used this system, with 2.6.13-rc3, and it was
"stable", except the assertion (cnt <= tp->packets_out) problem.
The only change on the system is the kernel upgrade from rc3 to rc6, and
your two patch. (fix+debug patch)

Originally I gets this assertion about 1-2 times / day with rc3.
Before your patch, I try one time the orig rc6, and the assertion comes 4
hours later.

But with your patch it looks like now I gets these strange messages INSTEAD
of  kernel assertion...
Naturally I am not sure! It just looks like....

Additionally I will send these messages to GNBD-list too.
(If I ever found that list...)
