Thanks for your quick answer, Oliver.
But please can you help me with setting the INFO_TRACE=1 environment
variable, I'm not an expert in Perl, unfortunately :-/
What I've already done is, I've configured the "log: debug" option in
~environments/deployment.yml to have an extensive debug output in
~/logs/netdisco-daemon.log after restarting the daemon.

Regards Tobias

-----
Hi Tobias,

If you also set INFO_TRACE=1 environment variable when running
netdisco-do, you should see the SNMP::Info module making (or attempting)
each SNMP method on the device. It might show what is failing.

regards,
oliver.

Hello this is my first post.

I am currently trying out netdisco 2 as we are currently netdisco 1.x users.
It seems OK at discovering cisco equipment, but when I try to discover
juniper ex2200 switches I am getting the following problem:

[netdisco@melkor ~]$ ~/bin/netdisco-do -D discover -d 10.0.192.130

Also the devices are showing up on the web app, but they are not showing as
having anything attached to their ports.
I have noticed that the UI seems alot faster than version 1.x when
displaying information for the juniper switches.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

~/logs/netdisco-daemon.log after restarting the daemon.

To set an environment variable in Linux at the command line, you prefix the command, like so:

netdisco@server:~> INFO_TRACE=1 netdisco-do discover -D -d <switch>

The same goes for the daemon:

netdisco@server:~> netdisco-daemon stop
netdisco@server:~> INFO_TRACE=1 netdisco-daemon start

Yes, you'll get LOTS of logs ;)

Hello list,

for the following Avaya ERS 48xx models I've no entrys ("No matching
records") in the modules plugin:

-- ERS 48xx Series
sreg-ERS-48xx OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { registration 78 }
sreg-ERS-4826GTS-PWR-PLUS  OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { sreg-ERS-48xx 1 }
sreg-ERS-4850GTS-PWR-PLUS  OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { sreg-ERS-48xx 2 }
sreg-ERS-4826GTS           OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { sreg-ERS-48xx 3 }
sreg-ERS-4850GTS           OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { sreg-ERS-48xx 4 }

I'm using the latest ND2 and SNMP::Info version. All other Avaya ERS
and Passports working fine, except the ERS 48xx models.
The SW version of the switch should not be the problem. I see this
issue in 5.7.0.009 and 5.6.1.053 as well.
Any ideas?

I just set up a new ND2 installation, and found that a lot devices aren't
having their names resolved in v2 where they are in v1. Those that are
resolved in our DNS server are OK; however, most of our devices are
resolved in the /etc/hosts file on the netdisco server, and I'm seeing ip
addresses in the device field where I'm used to seeing the hostname. Does
ND2 ignore the hosts file when it resolves an IP? so far, I haven't found
an answer in the docs.

Hm... that's strange. I can't figure out why the ND2 bulkwalk runs
into a timeout for the 4850'er model.
Both switches have the same SW version v5.7.0.009 installed and for
both devices I'm able to collect that information with a classic
snmpwalk in proper time.
Any ideas what else I could check?
