Was there a resolution to this? Was this fixed in a new release?

I'm finding that in v0.93, I'm getting a different number of IPs than
in v2.032005.

The report code is certainly different between the two versions, and I would argue that 2.x is likely to be more correct than 0.9x :-}, although that doesn't mean that either is fully correct, if you see what I mean.

I think the only way we can look into this is to poke at the actual data in the database, I'm afraid, as reproducing is likely to be very tricky.

oliver.

That's a strange bug! ;)

Would you have a problem sending me data from your database so I can
try to work through the code/SQL here? Feel free to contact me
off-list
(oliver at cpan dot org) or on IRC.

Without source data, I'm not sure I'll be able to reproduce the
 problem.

Am I doing something wrong, or should you please take a look at it?

Hello,

Recently, node data have stopped showing up in all port listings. Devices on the other hand do show up.

Can someone suggest what may be wrong? Could it be some issue with the db?

Please advise.

Sorry for the noise. The "Connected Nodes" checkbox had been unchecked for some reason.

Case closed.

First, thanks for a great tool.

I have it set up scanning a widespread network, where remote sites are tiny,
often just a firewall and one or two devices. It's doing exactly what it
should. But...

ASA's don't do CDP or LLDP (right?), and so there's no CORRECT way to have it
link them to a connected device.

Unless.. well, you want them to make the assumption that there's nothing else
in between, and trust the ARP and MAC information. Not correct and I wouldn't
want Netdisco to do that, but ...

All the information is there, I think, to build manual toplogy links so that
the ASA's can connect to their last (seen) switch port, and in turn (if you
read the config files; rancid is on the same machine) to each other. And it
might not be fully correct, but at least in my case it would be a lot more
useful than all these disconnected fragments.

Arguably the same could be said of Windows servers which don't have LLDP
enabled, but that's less important as they generally are edge devices.

Has anyone written scripts to pull together this type of information and enter
manual topology connections? With several dozen small sites with ASA's I
hate doing it all by hand (and yet it may be just a bit too little to try to
write code).

If there a documented way to import this? Can you just push it in with SQL?
(perhaps while shut down)?

I've searched without any luck. Do must people just do these by hand? Or
just not bother with the connections?

Hi all,
Does anyone know how to get Netdisco2 services to auto start on a Centos-7
server if it reboots ?
I have tried adding
sudo -u netdisco /home/netdisco/bin/netdisco-web start
sudo -u netdisco /home/netdisco/bin/netdisco-daemon start
to /etc/rc.local, but this does not seem to do the trick anymore. (It used to
in 6.5 I think)
If I type the above commands logged in as root it works, and I can also start
manually if I log in as my netdisco user.

Just can't get it to start when the server boots...

 Regards, Pete G
