Hello Oliver,

I'm making the move to ND2 after long use of a heavily modified ND1 deployment. I'm very happy with the plugin model and extensibility. I'm having some problems with the RANCID plugin tho: I am using an existing RANCID setup that is checked in by IP. I see there are some instructions on how to set it up, but I can't get it working. Here is the relevant config:

plugin_rancid:
  by_ip: switches
  groups:
    switches: [ 'name:.*' ]
location: '/websvn/filedetails.php?repname=switches&path=%2Fswitches%2Fconfigs%2F%DEVICE%'
  open_in_same_window: true

Can you please clarify how the config section should be written for this scenario?
Thanks!

have the situation that my rancid-devices are listed without fqdn,
but
netdisco does recognize them with fqdn. So the link that is provided
by the plugin points to http://rancidurl/hostname.domain, but my
rancid config is under http://rancidurl/hostname [1]

I also have some devices, that are only accessible by IP, name
resolution does not work there. Is there a way to modify the url that
the plugin sets here?

You can configure in the export script a group of devices which will be
known by IP in the config file, instead of by FQDN or device sysname.

I've just also added a very similar option for hostname (which is
simply FQDN stripped of the domain_suffix config item): "by_hostname".

For both of these, you'll need the new releases of App-Netdisco and
App-NetiscoX-Web-Plugin-RANCID from CPAN (available shortly).

Thank you for reporting this issue. To help us work out where the cause may be,
please could you provide the output of the following commands:

~netdisco/bin/netdisco-do show -d huawei_1 -e c_ip ~netdisco/bin/netdisco-do
show -d huawei_1 -e c_if ~netdisco/bin/netdisco-do show -d huawei_1 -e c_port
