Hi,

I’am running Netdisco version 2.52.5 and SNMP::Info 3.82 on CentOS 7.9 machine

The following command gets stuck with 3Com 4500 switches

netdisco-do snapshot -e yes -d <switch>

I’ve also tried to use snmpwalk and the error I got is

Error: OID not increasing: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises…..

I suppose that the problem has to be the same for both commands.

Any help is appreciated, thanks

Cristina

Cristina,

My go-to advice for equipment of this sort of age would be first of all to
ensure you are running the latest firmware available for the platform.

Of course all that is lost in the mists of assorted 3Com/HP/HPE/Aruba
re-branding exercises, and multiple website re-organisations, but this could be
it from 10-Jan-2013:

https://h10145.www1.hpe.com/downloads/SoftwareReleases.aspx?ProductNumber=JE045A

Adjust to suit your exact model if needed.

I never had any, but I think the 4500 might have been a Comware3 model (like
the E5500)? I have Netdisco running against many E5500 (still) and it is
generally fine.

Jethro.

Hi!

You can set the "nonincreasing" property in the config to ignore this common kind of snmp agent misbehaviour:
https://github.com/netdisco/netdisco/wiki/Configuration#nonincreasing

Cheers
