Hi, folks:
I just upgraded netdisco a few hours ago and suddenly I'm getting an
error when it tries to write a temp file to /root (it's a 12-year-old
installation been running pretty much flawlessly)
Jun 18 11:19:37 netdisco netdisco-backend[2596023]: Failed to write
/root/netdisco-backend.pid: Permission denied at
/home/netdisco/perl5/lib/perl5/Daemon/Control.pm line 375.
Jun 18 11:19:37 netdisco systemd[1]: netdisco-daemon.service: Control
process exited, code=exited, status=13/n/a
I'm starting netdisco with the systemd unit files from here:
https://metacpan.org/release/OLIVER/App-Netdisco-2.036007/view/lib/App/Netdisco/Manual/Systemd.pod
I had been running netdisco-daemon instead of netdisco-backend (didn't
notice when that change was made); but both of those scripts and
netdisco-web all error out with the same message.
It's running as user "netdisco" rather than "root" so I don't know where
it's getting the path from.
