Bug #1712: cannot place host scope within a group scope
https://osl.uoregon.edu/redmine/issues/1712#change-3027
Author: Patrick Landry
Status: Resolved
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Carlos Vicente
Category: DHCP
Target version: 1.0.4
Resolution: fixed
I have created a DHCP group scope to contain hosts which should PXE boot from a
particular server. After creating a host scope I am unable to set its container
group to the group scope.
When the host scope is initially created it is automatically assigned to my
only global scope. If I navigate directly to that host's DhcpScope record,
click Edit, select my group scope as the Container Scope, and click update the
Container Scope is not changed. It remains assigned to the Global scope.
I deleted the host scope which was automatically created and attempted to
create it manually. Navigate to the group scope, click on contained_scopes,
click add (Container Scope field correctly is set to the group scope), select
type Host, fill in name, IP and ethernet address, click insert. The resulting
record has its Container Scope set to global.
