Issue #1713 has been reported by Wim Vandersmissen.

Feature #1713: Option for vlan renaming

Author: Wim Vandersmissen
Status: New

Netdot automatically renames a vlan when it finds that it's name has changed.
It would be handy to have an option to disable this behaviour. (also this isn't
being logged in the audit log)
Vlan names can differ on different switches (e.g. because of MAB
implementation), but we want to have the name that we specified to be static.
(for now I commented the renaming code)
Alternatively, the vlan rename feature can be enabled but so that it only
renames when the vlan name used on the router (that routes this vlan) is
changed.

The [new] option on management/?page=VLANS wants to add a new vlan group.
If you want to add a new vlan manually you'll have to click on an existing vlan
to get the link for creating a new vlan.
It would be handy to have a link on management/?page=VLANS to
management/edit.html?table=Vlan

Issue #1715 has been reported by Wim Vandersmissen.

Feature #1715: Show the spanning-tree root in

It would be handy to have an overview of the spanning-tree root on the vlan
view: management/view.html?table=Vlan&id=X
This query could be used for finding the spanning-tree root(s) for vlan X
@select distinct(device.sysname),vlan.vid from interfacevlan JOIN stpinstance
on stpinstance.id=stp_instance JOIN vlan on vlan.id=vlan JOIN device on
device.id=device where bridge_priority=(select min(bridge_priority) as b from
interfacevlan JOIN stpinstance on stpinstance.id=stp_instance JOIN vlan on
vlan.id=vlan JOIN device on device.id=device where vid=X);@
We need to do subselects because e.g. on nexus 7K you can have 2 devices with
the same bridge priority (because of VPC)
