Bug #1812: Can't call method "update" on an undefined value

Author: Marc CYPRIEN
Status: New
Priority: Normal

Hello,
I encountered an error when I try to do update four of my existing devices. The
command I use is:
bin/updatedevices.pl -I -H <adress> -v 3 --sec-name <user> --sec-level
authNoPriv --auth-proto SHA --auth-pass <pass>
All the other devices work well with this command and it also work when the
device is not in the Database yet.
It started to load information about the device and at the end I gt this error:
INFO - Inserting new Device: 172.16.8.9
DEBUG - Device::insert: Device 33 already exists in DB as <name>
DEBUG - <name>: Using existing D067E5A98276 as base bridge address
ERROR: Can't call method "update" on an undefined value at
/usr/local/netdot/lib/Netdot/Model/Device.pm line 3047.
I think it's a bug but I may be wrong. Am I doing something wrong or is it
really a bug?
best regards

Issue #1812 has been updated by Carlos Vicente.
Category set to DeviceManagement
Status changed from New to Resolved
Assignee set to Carlos Vicente
Priority changed from Normal to High
Target version set to 1.0.7
Resolution set to fixed
That is a bug. It was fixed recently:
https://osl.uoregon.edu/redmine/projects/netdot/repository/revisions/c8ea633ab1240ef89a6228a22975092e35482262/diff/lib/Netdot/Model/Device.pm
You can make that small modification in your installation until a new release
comes out.
Best.

Hello,
I have three cisco connected to each other with Cisco Gigastack and Netdot
doesn't see them. I tried to connect the three switch together but i can't do
it manually because when I connect cisco1 with cisco2 on GigabitEthernet0/2, I
can't connect another device on the same port.
Is there any possible way to make Netdot see the Gigastack?
