Issue #1728 has been updated by Awen Thomas.

Hi Kraus,
The more general point is that people want to be able to put an IP address and
NOT the name, but have the names be blocked by IP.

For example, looking at some DNS entries for mozilla.org:

mozilla% nslookup www.mozilla.org
Server: regress.nscp.aoltw.net
Address: 10.169.115.222

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: gila.mozilla.org
Address: 207.200.81.215
Aliases: www.mozilla.org

If this worked as requested, you could put "207.200.81.215" and block both
"gila.mozilla.org" and "www.mozilla.org".

The feature has more general uses than just localhost, which I agree has a
simple workaround since you generally assume that localhost==127.0.0.1.

Bug #1728: Comment field of ipblock works only in FireFox

Hi,

I have a problem to save a comment of an ipblock with prefixes <32. This occurs
in the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Opera. With FireFox or Chrome
there are no problems.

Path: /management/ip.html?id=123&view=Comments&edit=comment

Kind Regards

Moe Kraus
